Bob was born and raised on Molokai, Hawaii while Tamara was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. They met in Honolulu and moved to Maui in 1974 to start a new life and did they!  Bob got his real estate license in 1976 and continues to be active with Live Maui Real Estate, LLC. Tamara directed several non-profits in education programs before working and retiring as Parks Director for the County of Maui after 23 years of service. 

With both adult children growing their own families and looking towards keep generational ties on Maui, Tamara and Bob started Iao Valley Inn in 2013 at the family home they built in 2001. So now, they are Proprietors at Iao Valley Inn, farmers at Mahina Farms Maui LLC and grandparents to 4 lovely and spirited granddaughters. They say life have treated them well!

Both of their children now reside on Maui and are contributing members for the betterment of Maui. Kainoa owns Moʻolelo Group,  and Olena works as Director of the Haleakala Conservancy.
